Problem
Deadlines are sacred in the legal support industry. ALSS is tasked by their
customers with fulfilling large data discovery tasks with very short turn around times. The process
of document discovery under these conditions would require an intelligent application capable of
converting documents to TIFF pages for storage and easy access from within numerous applications.
The system must be capable or reading, categorizing and printing documents of many different file
types.
DRG Team Solution
With a desire to fulfill their motto and provide consistent quality on time,
Access Litigation Support Services (ALSS) contracted the Data Research Group development team to
create a completely customized document discovery system—EZ ACCESS™. The solution produced is sleek
and very extensible. This system out performs their closest competitor by over 5 times. The solution
is also very flexible, allowing their customers to define the parameters that guide the discovery
process. The solution utilizes a client/server based application written in .NET, using SQL Server
as the backend. It serves as a document repository for a multitude of reporting applications both
client server and web based.

Once files are indexed, extracted and converted to TIF images, this Analysis module allows over thirty users
on multiple workstations to Bates Number, Export, and Produce data sets to the client law firm.
