| Paul Waldschmidt is the Chief Operations Officer and a senior partner at Data
Research Group. His responsibilities range from overseeing project management and
coordinating research issues to simply writing code as a senior member of the development
team. Very few things happen at Data Research Group that Mr. Waldschmidt is not connected
with. His wide range of knowledge in advanced mathematics, physics, mechanics, computer
science, finance and business management have given him an uncanny ability to be an
enormous asset in almost every area of the company.
Mr. Waldschmidt began his career with Assisted Solutions, a small IT firm, specializing in
customized software, developer tools and direct application service. He is directly
responsible for the creation and architecture of Gift Wrap PlusTM, a non-profit, web-based
donor management system – of which he wrote 95% of the code base for the entire first
and second release cycles. Gift Wrap Plus has grown to enjoy the unique reputation of
being the only completely web-based, completely self-managing/site-managing software
package available to the non-profit industry at large.
Mr. Waldschmidt’s reputation in the software industry can be wrapped up in one word: detail.
Whether you discuss him with clients or partners, his ability to bring a complete and
usable solution to a specific problem is always obvious. Beyond software programming
specifically, Paul has been a valuable asset to every project in that he has always
observed the solution through the customer’s eyes. He has been known to tirelessly and
consistently revamp documentation and interface design until the solution provides the
customer with exactly what they need and want.
Prior to Assisted Solutions, Mr. Waldschmidt worked as a software development consultant, using
the previous five years to fine tune his abilities with dozens of programming technologies.
He has personally designed, built, and released over 60 client software applications, 15
web applications, and dozens of web services. Mr. Waldschmidt believes that a true
programmer will never specialize in one or two languages and force every solution through
that paradigm. Instead, a true programmer imagines an architecture that the solution
should envelop and then searches for the technology that will make that plan a reality.
He believes that the true skill of a programmer is to adapt to different software
environments and learn how and when they should be used. His record is certainly consistent
with this objective.
For Harris Corporation, he successfully rebuilt an antiquated MS Office environment into a
client-server application paradigm that is used by hundreds of people today. He has
successfully built web application portals for multiple government agencies, such as the
NNMC, Department of the Navy, and NAVSEA that eliminated duplicate record entry and provided
sophisticated metric, query and reporting capabilities.
Mr. Waldschmidt has written several, widely-used developer tools for the ASP.NET industry and
published these and other articles for Microsoft, HotScripts.com, and.NET 24/7.
Mr. Waldschmidt’s studies include both Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at George Mason
University, as well as Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Specifically, he is considered an expert at ASP.NET, C#, C++, VB.NET, VBA, ADO.NET, HTML,
DHTML, XHTML, XML, XSL, CSS, JavaScript, SQL Server, T-SQL, Oracle, and PL-SQL. |
